    The smaller "F" number gives less depth of field. Less depth of field means that the camera can only focus on a few objects. In this photo, the tiles that are closest to the camera are the only objects in focus because it was taken in F5.6.
 
 
    The bigger the "F" number the more depth of field. More depth of field means that the camera is able to focus on objects that are near and far. In this photo, all the tiles are in focus because it was captured in F36.
